“For me as a young musician growing up in South Dorset, the Weymouth Music Festival offered a taste of the exciting musical world outside. I was enthused and inspired by celebrity adjudicators and relished the chance to test my skills and expand my horizons in a stimulating environment which was always warmly supportive, encouraging and – crucially and almost uniquely – non-competitive. I gained valuable confidence and went on to study in London with two professors I had first met at the Festival. For me, the Weymouth Music Festival was a vital stepping-stone on my road towards the music profession, and I am thrilled to be associated with it once more as it enters a bold new chapter in its history”
