DUNCAN HONEYBOURNE BMus(Hons) HonBC (Organ Class)
Duncan Honeybourne enjoys a rich and diverse career as a pianist and in music education. He has toured extensively at home and abroad as a recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician and his solo performances are frequently broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and radio networks worldwide. He is a Tutor in Piano at the University of Southampton and gives frequent masterclasses and lecture recitals. As an organist he has given recitals at Brecon and Truro Cathedrals and in Switzerland, and in 2017 has been invited to give a recital of English organ music at Ieper (Ypres) Cathedral in Belgium. He has broadcast as an organist on BBC TV and Radio, the BBC World Service, and in South Africa, and Choir and Organ magazine wrote of a recent CD: “Duncan Honeybourne is an articulate advocate both for the music and for the expressive Kuhn organ of Jesus College Chapel, Cambridge.” For 25 years Duncan has held organist posts in Dorset and Worcestershire, and the Daily Telegraph wrote of one of his organ recitals that “Honeybourne chose his programme resourcefully and handled the instrument with sensitivity, finding expressive qualities others might have missed.”
